Job Title: Driver Centre Manager
Main Purpose of Job
Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, directly responsible for the operational and commercial effectiveness of a multi contract operation
Overall responsibility for efficient operation of the Driver Centre Operation including cost control, maintenance standards, Health and Safety, security and effective manpower planning
To ensure that you and your team work in a cohesive manner in order to achieve the our customers requirements
Ensure safety standards are implemented and followed to ensure full compliance to legislation and health and safety and environmental policies
Provide management, support and guidance to Driver Centre employees in order that they perform to the desired standards, and in line with company targets and personal objectives

Duties and Key Responsibilities
Operations
Facilitation of clear and relevant KPI’s from each contract identifying key variances and performances against the pre agree contract criteria
Facilitation of regular reviews with finance, asset management, service, as well as senior management
Development and implementation of contract structures to enable all ‘O’ licence legal obligations are met and subsequent achievement of at least 90% performance through the ‘O’ licence audit programme
Customer Management
Provide proactive advice and support to Customers to assist them in safe and cost effective operation of vehicles
Provision of regular contract reviews with customers ensuring key issues are minuted and action planned and to gain an understanding of their short and long term business requirements
A proactive approach both with customers and internally within the company in order to identify new potential business initiatives
HR Management
Control and forecast manpower planning and overtime working planning for maximum efficiency
Document and communicate individual performance and training requirements
Motivate the Team consistently recognising, reinforcing, communicating quality standards and measuring individual performance
Hold regular formal meetings as per prescriptive agenda and take minutes
Health, Safety, Environmental and Security and Compliance
Ensure safety standards are fully implemented and followed through by monthly briefings to review all safety matters
Ensure all facilities, equipment and fleet comply with all environmental laws
Ensure security of vehicles in line with Company policies particularly with regard to key controls and lone working
Responsibility for SOX compliance to ensure contracts operate effectively and are compliant with the SOX templates
Financial Management
Review P&L versus plan and develop action plans to address variances
Close management of use and costs of consumables, third party sub contractors and all external expenditure
Financial expenditure in line with Company limits
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications
International CPC Holder
High standard of numeracy, literacy and verbal communication
IT literacy including:
Fleet / database systems
MS Word, MS Excel
Full UK Driving License – LGV preferable
Desirable Qualifications
English and Maths at GCSE level, or equivalent
ECDL qualification
IOSH qualification
Experience
Minimum of 5 years practical experience at managerial level gained in a commercial transport and distribution environment
Minimum of 3 years managing employees
Minimum of 2 years P&L responsibility
