Customer Service Engineer
We design and manufacture battery powered data loggers and electronic pressure controllers for water & gas distribution networks, including intrinsically safe products for use in explosive atmospheres.
Our products, systems and solutions use the latest technologies and innovation to facilitate efficient management of water and gas networks. To support our growing business, we are looking to recruit a self-motivated, enthusiastic individual to join the team who is keen to succeed in a Sales / technical sales role and enhance our customer’s experience.
Full product and software training will be provided. The role includes but not restricted to: Supervising existing technical support function
Responsible for software testing and release process for our Platform
Responsible for version control and release of company software (internal and external)
Form close working relationship with Technical Managers to identify and rectify issues
Creation and proof-reading of product documentation
Generation of managerial reports Improving and maintaining good relationships with customers and existing overseas partners
Providing field installation support for all product types
Providing on-site or remote software installation and support
Attending and promoting Company products at exhibitions / conferences
Utilising Customer Relation Management (CRM) tools, Business Central Occasional overseas travel or overnight stays / out of hours working.
Providing internal, onsite and remote training as necessary
Person specification: The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills and the confidence to build new relationships quickly including working with both internal department managers and our customers to enhance our products and services.
The ideal candidate must have a demonstrable technical / software skills, be well organised/ process driven and able to self-manage both self and others.
The role may require travel within UK & overseas where required.
You will have: Suitable qualification in electronic or software engineering, ideally to HNC, HND, Degree level or equivalent).
Experience of process improvement and/or project management
Excellent communication and written skills
Experience with managing and / or working in a team Fluent in English, a second language an advantage
Able to work flexible hours
The ability to multi-task with an analytical and strategic approach.
Capability to use own initiative Self-motivated, positive and focused
Persuasive with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to learn new skills
Computer literate and fully conversant with core Microsoft packages, including Excel, Word Experience with SQL databases, webservers, cellular and TCP-IP telecommunications preferred but not essential.
Location: The successful candidate will be report to Head Office, However, the job role may encompass travelling to different locations worldwide and will involve flexibility from the candidate for the overnight stays as required
